‘Restoration Company wins award’
Southeast Restoration Group of GA, Inc. of Holly Springs won the 2007 Contractor of the Year/Performance Excellence Award for the Southeast District. Company owner Ben Looper recently accepted the award at the Crawford Contractor Connection’s Annual Conference in Phoenix. He and his wife, Brandy, attended the event. Southeast Restoration Group is a general contractor providing structural restoration and emergency services for residential and commercial customers. It has been associated with Contractor Connection for seven years. The Loopers are Cherokee County natives and live in Canton with their three children. Southeast Restoration Group is in Mountain Brook Industrial Park and serves all of north Georgia.

‘Library reopens after flooding repairs’
The library on Main Street north of downtown closed at the end of April due to an apparent cooling system malfunction that burst a water pipe. Enough work was done by Monday to hold a Vacation Reading Club children’s program kickoff there on Tuesday with the entire library reopening today at the regular time of 10 a.m.“Relieved doesn’t even begin to describe it”, Nick Fogarty, director of the Sequoyah Regional Library System, said of the ability to reopen the library in time for the popular summer-long children’s program. Forgarty said Southeast Restoration Group originally predicted the cleanup would take until July 1, due to the need to special order wall and floor coverings.“They cut that time in half, “Fogarty said. “They knew we had a big summer reading kickoff. They are truly wonderful.”
